Provided a site observation, review of available documents, and engineering analysis for the installation of the flag poles to the building structure.

Pier House 60 Marine Hotel, Clearwater Beach, FL

A ten story hotel with a four level parking garage, this building sits on the intercoastal waterway of Clearwater Beach, adjacent to Clearwater Municipal Marina. The building is a 121,000 s.f. hotel that includes 108 hotel guestrooms and 98 parking spaces. The structural framework is reinforced concrete and post-tension floors that sit on a drilled shaft pile foundation. Burby Engineering’s president is the Engineer of Record for this project.


Hyatt Aqualea, Clearwater Beach, FL

A 17 story hotel and condominium with a 7 level parking garage, this building sits on the Gulf of Mexico and is one of the tallest buildings on Clearwater Beach. The construction consists of reinforced concrete and post-tension floors that bear on a drilled shaft foundation. Burby Engineering’s president worked on this project while employed for the Engineer of Record.


Family Care Center, Plant City, FL

Family Care Center is a multi-purpose health clinic for physicians and dentists. A 3,200 s.f. addition was added to the existing facility. The structural framework includes reinforced masonry and bar joist construction that bear on a typical strip footing foundation. Burby Engineering’s president worked on this project while employed for the Engineer of Record.


Perico Pool House, Harbor Isles, FL

Perico Pool House is a complex club house and kayak launch.

City Electric, Tampa, FL

City Electric is a 2000 s.f. single story office building. Full construction documents were provided for this facility including the civil engineering.

Springbrook Hospital Reroof, Brooksville, FL

Springbrook Hospital is a health care provider. The engineering services provided for this existing facility included a removal of the existing roof structure that suffered from long term excessive deflection. The existing structural conditions were surveyed and a new roof structure was designed.


Christian International School, Tampa, FL

Christian International School is a charter school that is proposed for construction. The project includes adding a second level to an existing single story building. The construction type includes structural steel and bar joist floor system construction and a new two story concrete masonry restroom and storage building that ties into the existing structure at two levels.

The Preserve at Alafia, Gibsonton, FL

The Preserve at Alafia is a multi-family residential apartment development, including several mid-rise buildings, located on the Alafia River. The structural framework includes a heavy post-tensioned transfer deck that supports four levels of frame construction. Burby Engineering’s president provided the structural post-tension engineering services for this project.

I-4 Connector Project, Tampa, FL

Provided specialty bridge demolition for more than 15 bridges spanning over various public roadways and railroads. This projects required heavy equipment to be loaded on the bridges and verification that the bridge girders would not be overstressed. The railroad and highway authorities required full demolition plans and structural calculations prior to demolition.


Crosstown Expressway Re-decking, Tampa, FL

Provided specialty demolition plans for the bridge deck removal for all bridges crossing public roadways below. Bridges were checked to verify heavy equipment could be supported by the bridge during the removal of the bridge deck.


University of South Florida (USF) Sun Dome Renovation, Tampa, FL

Provided structural engineering support to remove the upper tier stadium seating which required inspection and analysis of the existing stadium support and crane pick plans for each stage of construction.


Heavy Pick Plans – I-4 Connector Project, Tampa, FL

Pick plans for the removal of 100 ft span pre-stressed bridge girders.

Rocky Point Shands Lab Solar Array, Gainesville, FL

Provided site inspections of an existing metal building and analyzed existing structural conditions to ensure the safe installation of the proposed solar array.


X-hale Solar Array, Gainesville, FL

Provided site inspections of an existing metal building and analyzed existing structural conditions to ensure the safe installation of the proposed solar array.


University of South Florida CAMLS Health, Tampa, FL

Designed all the exterior cold-formed steel structural framing and provided full structural calculation.


Double Tree Parking Garage, Tampa, FL

Provided structural condition assessment survey the four level parking structure including review of existing reinforced concrete, parking garage crash walls, and parking deck waterproofing and traffic membranes.


Key West Hotels

Provided structural condition survey for a $200 million acquisition for the project owner. Specific services included review of existing structural conditions and diagnosing the disposition of the structure. We provided plans and specifications for various elements that required immediate repair.


Cheetah Hunt Roller Coaster, Busch Gardens, Tampa, FL

Provided structural engineering support of the coaster’s more than 300 foundations. Specific challenges include designing the foundations for low impact placement of the park’s current infrastructure and resolving the high forces due to the speed of the coaster which reaches a top speed of approximately 60 mph.
